Testimonials
Dear Dr. Page,
My name is Sharon and I am one of your many post-op patients. You performed decompression surgery along with a bone fusion on my lower back on the thirteenth of last month. My first post-op appointment was with John on May 26, 2009.
I am writing this letter to let you know that you have literally changed my life. The pain that I was experiencing in my legs, prior to receiving this surgery, left me physically unable to perform my job, and most daily activities. That very same pain is virtually gone. The result of the surgery, for me, is nothing less than a miracle.
I have started physical therapy at Maxim in Palo Cedro. I am learning alot about becoming proactive in rebuilding the muscle and nerves following the surgery. This is the second week of a 6 week program laid out by your office. Although there remains a certain amount of pain in my lower back, I feel as though I am right on target. You had prepared me for this remaining pain caused by arthritis.
I am returning to my job tomorrow evening. I will be going back to work as a bartender on light duty until I am fully healed.
I am requesting a doctors release and a couple of refills on the pain medication Norco, that you prescribed for me prior to the surgery. I do not need refills on the muscle relaxers as I am not experiencing spasms of any kind. I cannot get into see my primary care physician Dr. Gordon Lui for at least 3 more weeks and I would like to have pain medication on hand as I ease back into my job.
My second post-op is scheduled for June 29. I will be there in order to share my progress, and hopefully be able to express my gratitude to you Dr.Page in person.
Again, I am so thankful that I can once again get out of bed in the mornings, able to start my day without the nearly unbareable pain in my legs that, at times, seemed all consuming. Thank you from the bottom of my heart for the treatment I received from you, Dr. Page, from John, and the entire staff. Your office is proof positive that a patient is not measured by the insurance policy she holds, but given the dignity and excellence that one deserves in seeking health and well being. What a difference you have made in my world, and I would imagine, in many other's as well.
I'm looking forward to seeing you on June 29

I very much appreciated Dr. Kimberly Page's caring and straight forward approach of listening the the patients first, then using tests as a tool and clearly explaining
potential scenarios to me as the patient so I could make an informed decision. The dedication of her entire office staff in getting me taken care of without delay also
made me very appreciative.
My medical history is quite extensive including multiple childhood shunts for both an arachnoid cyst and hydrocephalus. In 2003, I began having very severe headaches that my neurologist at the time insisted were migraines. I disagreed with the diagnosis given that migraines have plagued me my entire life and these were very different, but in desperation I tried several medications proscribed for over 6 months and did not find relief. As fortune would have it, my opthamologist recognized that I had ocular nerve swelling, which was a likely indication of intacranial pressure, and thus he immediately referred me to Dr. Page.
During my first appointment I described the previous migraine diagnosis and why I did not agree with it. She promptly ordered a CT scan and other diagnostic tests in an effort to determine if my old shunt intended to correct hydrocephalus was malfunctioning. She made it clear to me, that in my case, none of the tests could definitely confirm that I was experiencing hydrocephalus but there is every likelihood it is the cause of my pain regardless. Given my symptoms, my description of the pain and the ineffectiveness of migraine medication she was willing to revise one of my existing shunts in an effort to relieve my headaches. The procedure was successful and within two months I was moving overseas as planned.
Most recently, this year (2011), I moved back to the North State, and shortly thereafter I became dangerously ill over a few days with even more extreme headaches than before. While I had not seen Dr. Page in several years, I was hopeful her office staff could schedule me to see her as soon as possible, as I knew I was experiencing shunt failure again, but this time it occurred much faster and more severely than before. I left a message at Dr. Page's office and to my amazement Kristen (the office medical assistant) called me back immediately and talked to me about my situation. Soon I was called by Elizabeth (the office receptionist) to inform me a CT scan was scheduled that night at the hospital. Upon completion of the scan Dr. Page looked it over that night while I was still at the hospital to make sure I would be OK until my scheduled office visit. When I called the office the next day and informed folks there that I was even worse, they worked hard to get me in as soon as possible that morning.
After my appointment I was admitted to the hospital and scheduled for surgery without delay for a shunt revision. Once the new shunt was in place all my headache and nausea symptoms disappeared. Fluid from my old shunt was cultured and as it turns out, I had a bacterial infection in my brain. It took several more surgeries over the next few weeks in order to rid me of the bacteria that made my brain home. It was a tough few weeks, but Dr. Page was continuously checking on me, answering all of my many questions (sometimes repeatedly), and giving me detailed information about my options with great compassion and respect. She also did not hesitate to bring multiple other specialists onto my case to make sure I got the best care possible!
I am so incredibly grateful to everyone at Dr. Page's office as well as to those who assisted in evaluating my case and performing the procedures I had. Thanks to Dr. Page, I am feeling great and am expected to make a full recovery with work on my part and a bit of time (12-18 months). As the bills are rolling in, Holley (the office manager) also discussed payment options given how many procedures I had, and this was much appreciated as well.

I am happy to report that the pain down my right arm is gone! It flares up a bit if I over do it! So, I am so HAPPY for that!
My neck is sore on the back side and of course where my scar is. I also still have a lump in my throat when I swallow. But, I figured these things are all to be expected!
I'm going to see Dr Senter this week as soon as I do I will let you know which PT. I start that at 3 weeks?
Still where there collar up till then? It definitely feels better if I do where it! Well, except for when it's HOT!! :)
I can't thank Dr Page enough for all she has done for me. Please give her a big hug for ME!!! OK and give yourself one for me TOO!!

Darwyn called me this morning to share a complement for MMCR.
Dr. Kim Page conducted spinal, neurosurgery on one of Darwyn's employee's sons (C3 repair). Darwyn wanted you to know that Dr Page and her team at Mercy were OUTSTANDING! The patient is doing well and going home in the next day or so.
Sincerely,
-Kristen

I had dealt with neck pain for 6 years before I was referred to Dr. Kimberly Page, I am female and was 55 at the time. My first
visit was for Dr. Page to review my MRI and discuss options. She was very thorough and spent honest time with me answering
questions my husband and I both had with regards to possible neck surgery.
After a series of pain management therapy and physical therapy, per Dr. Page, which gave little if any relief, about a year later I decided to again go over the possibility of neck fusion surgery.
On the next visit with Dr. Page, she again was very focused on me and what my hopes were, she again was very thorough on the fusion procedure explaining it in terms I understood. I then felt comfortable enough to have Dr. Page do the surgery.
Prior to the surgery, Kristen (Dr. Page's Medical Assistant) gave me all the important pre-op information, taking the time to answer all the questions my husband and I had.
The surgery went as planned as was successful. I had immediate relief. The only pain I had after the surgery was a headache, most likely due to the anesthesia and/or the pain medication. I never had pain or tenderness at the incision area and it is healing quickly.
All in all my experience with Dr. Page, Kristen, and Elizabeth (Receptionist) was excellent and I would highly recommend them. It would have been helpful to know how long the total pre-op would take. It was only 20 to 30 minutes at Dr. Page's office, however it was close to 3 hours for the hospital pre-op. Also, it would have been less frustrating, for me, to know what the possible side effects of the anesthesia.pain medication would be, (maybe they did tell me I don't remember) the headache and nausea were VERY uncomfortable, however the nurses at the hospital were as accommodating as they could be.
I would say I was doing everything I was doing before surgery about 2 weeks after surgery......VERY HAPPY GIRL!!
